Optimization of the workflow through automatic mapping in the area of Model Components

In order to support the user in defining the information requirements, BIMQ was supplemented with the functionality of automatic mapping. This function can be used at a higher level when defining software and IFC schema or when mapping individual new created elements and properties.

The automatic mapping for individual elements or properties can be carried out in the areas of Model Components, Object cards and Requirements. If the functionality of the automatic definition of individual elements or properties is to be used, these must be recreated.

1. automatic mapping of elements

When creating new elements, a dialog box appears in which the name and code of the new object can be entered.

If automatic mapping is to be carried out, the checkbox "Use general element definition (proxy) in mappings to software and IFC" must be activated.

Automatic mapping is carried out for all defined software products and IFC versions. If the name of the created element corresponds to the name from a reference guideline, this is automatically assigned. For the IFC scheme, all elements are defined as proxies.

2. automatic mapping of properties

When creating new properties, a dialog box appears in which the name and code of the new property can be entered.

If the first Checkbox is selected, the automatic mapping is carried out for all defined software products and IFC versions. If the name of the created property corresponds to the name from a reference guideline, this is automatically assigned. The name of the property created is used for the automatic mapping of the IFC scheme. Selecting the second checkbox sets the unit type to Label.
